Group ToursGroup tours are great if you are planning a reunion, wedding, family get-together or anything else. They are also great for church groups, kids groups and senior citizens. Group tours are usually less expensive than if each person booked the tour individually. A group tour can be one that involved riding in a motor coach to a particular destination or something more luxurious like a cruise ship. Many tour operators offer group tours through North and South America, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific for all ages. The tour usually includes air or coach fare, hotel accommodations, cost of admission to places and in some cases, even meals. The group tours are nice to take because you don't have to worry about booking your travel. All you have to do is pick a good, reliable tour operator and let them do all the work! Some group tours have what is called a group leader. The group leader is responsible for gathering people for the tour then contacting the tour operator. Once the tour is set up, the group leader then informs the tour group of all the arrangements. Many times, if you serve as a group leader, you earn a free trip for your help. If you plan on being a group leader, there are several things you should consider. First is to organize your group. This can be people from your church, a child organization such as Boy Scouts, a hobby group you belong to like quilters - just about anyone! At the meeting, you will need to decide where everyone wants to go and how they want to travel. Think about how much you plan on spending per person. You will also need to decide how long the tour should last - three days, a week, etc. Get a list of possible dates from everyone. Sometimes the tour operator can only arrange tours on certain dates, so it is important that everyone be flexible. Decide, if it is an adult group, if you are going to allow children on the tour. Once you have everything determined, contact your local travel agent about group tours. |
