Music GroupsMusic groups have been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years. People found out long ago that while one instrument can sound lovely when played, playing several instruments together at the same time produced a totally different, yet equally enjoyable sound. Today, there are many types of music groups. The most obvious music groups are the professional groups that you hear played on the radio every day. No matter who you are, you probably enjoy some type of music. There are groups in every genre of music. There are country music groups such as The Mavericks, Brooks and Dunn and Rascal Flatts. There are popular rock music groups like Foo Fighers, Green Day and Coldplay. Some people prefer classic rock groups like Led Zepplin, Queen and Jethro Tull. Rhythm and blues fans probably like listening to the sounds of such groups as the Black Eyed Peas and Boyz N Da Hood or older groups like The Temptations, The Spinners or Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Rap has its own set of music groups. Rap groups like the Ying Yang Twins, Flipsyde, and Bone Thugs 'N' Harmony enjoy great success. Other types of music also have music groups - from Blues to Folk, Heavy Metal to Jazz. But, there are also amateur music groups that put out great sounds. You may even be a member of an amateur group of musicians that enjoy playing together. Most cities have some type of symphony - just another example of a music group. Many cities have musical groups that you can join if you are looking for others to play with. You can consult your local yellow pages to find out more information. No matter what you play, you will surely derive much pleasure from playing along with your fellow artists to make beautiful music. |
